Day 15 – The penultimate day of our journey kicks off in Bishop Lavis. The day started out at Heldeberg primary school where a our partners at Grandwest CSI donated at 10 000 liter Jojo tank to the school. The kids entertained us with music and song as our ground teams prepared for the day ahead. The day sees us traveling through schools in Bishop Lavis and helping the community where we can, by feeding, fixing and donating necessary items. Our main focus however, was to tell the tale of Bishop Lavis and to reflect the hard work that’s being done in the community to better the lives of the youth.
More from Day 15 – Overwhelmed by the support from the community some of our friends decided to lend a helping hand in the days events. The Cape Cobras joined in on the action in Bishop Lavis and sorted out the local football team with something nutritious to eat after a very intense football practice. We also made sure that the local teams in the area had some cool new equipment to play with and develop their burgeoning footballing skills. Our day ended where we started, at the Helderberg Primary School, with the team packing up slightly early to head back to Heart FM’s HQ to prepare and pack supplies for the culmination of our 16 Days For Youth journey.
