Aunty Rennie from Silvertown in Athlone has been donating all her time to make food timelessly again and again for the people in this community.

Recently she started a food drive, aiming at the youth and the younger generation who can’t fend for themselves. Her food drive before, would happen once a month, and has now moved to once a week, as the demand for food keeps growing. Aunty Rennie uses whatsapp as a means to seek donations, which she depends on from family and friends to be able to cook for these starving people.

We spoke to our friends from Blue Ribbon who came on board and graciously donated 200 loaves of bread and other groceries to Aunty Rennie. THANK YOU Blue Ribbon, your help will go a long way for this community. Another big thank you to a well-known friend of the station Tannie Magdha for supporting and donating to the 16 Days for youth initiative, who also helped to donate towards Aunty Rennie’s feeding scheme.

No act of kindness no matter how big or small, is ever wasted. If we continue to believe that we can make a difference, then we will make a difference. We believe that one of the most important things to learn in life is that you can make a difference in your community no matter who you are and where you live.

Together, we can really do so much

Have a listen to this beautiful moment between Suga and Aunty Rennie
